As i just mentioned we must come to the knowledge and acceptance of salvation.

When god sees you doing your part developing what he has given you then he will do his part and open doors that no man can shut. That this well known christian cliché was not in the word or the fact that i had no good reason for my season of camping out in front of that proverbial closed door. I m not sure what concerned me more. Sometimes god closes doors and windows. When the time is right he will fully open the door. When god closes a door he opens a window is not in fact in the bible.

He beautifully describes what it means to be broken and yet still loved by god. And pray for us too that god may open a door for our message so that we may proclaim the mystery of christ for which i am in chains colossians 4 3. So then before we begin to look at what it means for god to open and close doors we must understand god s will for our lives. God doesn t need that.

Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories. God closes the door sometimes because he knows we need a few more seasons of meekness and humility under our belts. Welcome to my open window a place of hope encouragement and adventure as we journey down the road from closed doors to the new opportunities god places in our pathway. His call for your life is far simpler than that.

I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears failures and triumphs from the past and side trips in the present. This is the first part of god s will because he is not willing that any of us should perish in hell. We see this stated in 2 peter 3 9. He knows what it s like to let go of the rope we re all holding on to and let jesus catch him.

When god closes a door he may leave you in the dark for a season until he speaks to you out of the whirlwind. When i came to the city of troas to preach the good news of christ the lord opened a door of opportunity for me 2 corinthians 2 12. As i ve processed the nearly constant pain and inconvenience i have been helped by jared wilson. God may for a time leave us in a room with the door firmly closed without the refreshment of an open window.
